Early 2001 - Version 5 of PAF is now available for free download from the LDS website.
There follows below this preamble a copy of a letter, dated May 10, 1997, received by registered users of PAF earlier versions. At the end of the document are some comments which are, or may be, relevant. This page is intended was placed originally as a source of information to members, or potential members, of the Tay Valley Family History Society, but is not exclusively of their interest. The author was, at the original time of writing this, proposing that the TVFHS create a computer database using the PAF program now that it can handle millions of records. Members, and others, were to be encouraged to send GEDCOM files of their Family history to the TVFHS and their records would be added to a huge database. Unfortunately, TVFHS have stated that there is more than enough outstanding work (carried out only by volunteers) to be done at the TVFHS Centre and it would not be possible to take on any more. If, you, the reader, have any comments about this proposal / idea please forward a message to the author (see end). It is not my intention to try to change the views of TVFHS.
There are other related pages to this one and you are advised to read ALL of these in order to find out about the PAF database proposal.
